The answer is a parent

Strong families make children's lives better. Since 1945, Saint Francis Community Services has remained dedicated to that simple, singular idea. Thousands of children across the state of Kansas, just like Toni in the video to the right, need a place to stay, to belong, to live.

There are many reasons a child may come into foster care, but it's mostly just good kids stuck in bad situations. When possible, we work toward improving those situations and returning the children home.

As a foster parent, you play a vital role in the life of a child or teen, but you won't have to do it all alone. You have support and training from a dedicated, professional team—local and on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You'll also get tax-free compensation, medical cards, and a limited amount of paid day care to help make ends meet.

If you're here, it means you are considering becoming a foster parent. Thank you. Whether or not you ultimately decide that foster parenting is the right fit for you and your family, it's people like you who make the world a better place.
